MOONWALK

\On May 12, Mariana Horgan's MOONWALK exhibition opens at MODO M - an art gallery curated by Matilde Corrêa Mendes that now takes place on one of the rooms of Palácio Chiado. For this exhibition, the artist Mariana Horgan created her first large-scale canvases, which in a metaphorical sense and in reference to her own creative process, seem to evoke the physicality and plasticity of the struggle of the Palace's mural bodies in search of meaning. The stains of color that creep in, the chaos that disperses and organizes itself, the traces and particles that wander in the air, the dust that rises and appear to settle - the embracing and acceptance of emptiness, silence and contemplation. The title of the exhibition, "Moonwalk" invites us to experience this uninhabited and weightless place, where human presence is felt in the distant, the memory that merges on the surface and the temporality that opens up to the new-found.

\No dia 12 de Maio, inaugura a exposição MOONWALK de Mariana Horgan na galeria Modo M – uma galeria com a curadoria de Matilde Corrêa Mendes que agora ocupa uma das salas do Palácio Chiado. Para esta exposição a artista Mariana Horgan pintou as suas primeiras telas de grande dimensão, que, em sentido metafórico e em alusão ao seu próprio processo criativo, parecem evocar a fisicalidade e plasticidade da luta dos corpos murais do Palácio em busca de um sentido. As manchas de cor que se arrastam, o caos que se dispersa e organiza, os vestígios e partículas que vagueiam no ar, o pó que se levanta e começa a assentar – a aceitação e acolhimento do vazio, do silêncio e da contemplação. O título da exposição, Moonwalk convida-nos à vivência desse lugar inabitado e sem gravidade, onde a presença se sente no longínquo, a memória se funde na superfície, e a temporalidade se abre ao novo.
